Hi, I'm Allison
I am the face behind Allison Cheng Photography. I was brought into this side of the photography world by my gymnastics community and couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities my career has led me to.
Eight months out of the year,
I am a seasoned USA Gymnastics Staff Photographer as well as the Chief Photographer and Social Media Manager for my family's company, Team Photo. I’ve had the privilege of covering the 2016, and 2018-2024 Gymnastics Championships, 2024 Core Classic, as well as the 2021 and more recent 2024 Olympic Trials. The remaining four months are filled with capturing beautiful moments in weddings, engagements, family sessions, senior portraits, headshots and more.
I am a
wife, dog mama, and rock climber, originally born in Lake Jackson, Texas. I moved to the Connecticut when I was 9, where my love for adventure and the outdoors flourished. Whether I’m scaling a rock face or enjoying time with my family, I embrace every moment of this beautiful journey!
Since 2015, I’ve had the privilege of documenting moments, milestones, and memories, and it’s truly been an honor. I approach photography with a candid, lifestyle-focused style, aiming to capture your life in its most authentic form. I want to celebrate all the grace, beauty, and delightful messiness that life offers, creating images that reflect the genuine moments that make your story unique.

One
I was a competitive gymnast 16+ years ago (don't do math, I'm old!)
Two
My first time photographing was by accident, on the national floor. I was 19
Three
I used to have a wildly thick southern accent.

My favorite color has always been blue.

I originally picked up my camera to hang out, and spend time with my dad.

One of the greatest pieces of advice I've ever received was:

I actually love the editing process of my weddings, and I look forward to my early mornings in the living room with a chick flick movie, and warm cup of coffee to go with it!
Eight
The proudest moment I ever had was having a cereal box with my work on it being sold on the SAME shelf as my dad's with his work on it. THAT was a star struck moment.

There is an 8 week period from May 1st to the end of June where I am home for a total of about 8 days. #GymnasticsSeason
Ten
I got my husband to notice me by "falling 30 feet from the sky" while rock climbing because I thought he was cute and didn't know how else to talk to him. I figured, a good opening liner was whipping in the lead cave. Never did I think we'd be married, and starting our little family three years later. ♥️
